Amsterdam NY Recreation's Veterans Park Adds MoveStrong Outdoor Fitness

The planing process for the walking path at Amsterdam’s Vetrans Park led them to MoveStrong for a mixture of fitness and obstacle course challenges for park givers to enjoy while walking or jogging the fitness path.

The MoveStrong T-Rex Outdoor FTS provides a multi-station for many users at once to workout and or take part in group fitness training classed. Other FitGround stations along the trail include Cargo Net and Rope climb, Elite Parallel Bars, Push-up bars, Plyo Steps, Zig-Zag Balance Beam, and A-Wall Climber

Amsterdam Recreation decided to reach out to area business to help support efforts and raise money for the new outdoor fitness addition. They found a great sponsor, Sticker Mule, willing to support their efforts in bringing more fitness to the community.

Earlier this year @stickermule made a donation of $100,000 to the City of Amsterdam for improvements to Veteran's Park. The first phase included a quarter-mile exercise trail adorned with eight pieces of MoveStrong exercise equipment. The equipment spaced throughout the trail which is now open for use. The equipment is suited for all ages and intensity levels of exercise. Later this fall the exercise trail will be paved and renovations will begin on the iconic pavilion in the center of the park. Also planned is the construction an installation of new playground equipment, two sand volleyball courts and a splash pad.”

Veteran's Park

Veteran's park is one of the largest parks in Amsterdam. This park includes a two war memorials dedicated to the veterans of Amsterdam. The park features a 200 foot baseball field at the lower end of the park, hosts events and movies in the park, has several basketball ball courts, one tennis court, a playground and a public pavilion.
