Bring A Shopping Center Back To Life
A shopping center should be a lot of things, but not empty. When Western Centers, an established investor and property manager of retail centers in Colorado, bought The Market at Springs Creek more than three years ago, it was exactly that. From the first day, the main goal was to return the shopping center back to its former stature and make it an attractive location for people living and working in the neighborhood. And that is Holly Abes’ job.
“To me, this is not just a job. This is a heart project. I want to show that we care about this community and this neighborhood. And the center continues to get better every day. I started with minor improvements, such as painting the walls, installing nice lights, and buying beautiful décor. After fixing the outside appearance the next steps were events and happenings on site.”
The first idea for possible additions to the location came to Holly when visiting the MAC (Miller Activity Complex) in her hometown Castle Rock. The park incorporates a huge fitness site that is very popular with locals.
After one year of research and traveling throughout the state, looking at different equipment and company installations, Holly came across MoveStrong’s T-Rex.
“The moment I saw it I knew that this was exactly what we needed. Being a military town, Colorado Springs is full of people in good shape, who love to take care of themselves and are interested in wellness offerings. The T-Rex seemed like the perfect fit.”
Holly spoke with our MoveStrong experts multiple times for recommendations on layout and design.
